Dan was born on April 25, 1938, in Lombard, to Joseph and Josephine Donovan and grew up with his siblings Mike and Marty. Dan lived a long life of hard work, selflessness, faith, love, and charity. Dan was educated at Sacred Heart Catholic School, Fenwick Catholic High School, Marquette University, and the University of Chicago. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Arizona with the Signal Corps. He then returned to Chicago where he established a distinguished 35-year career at IBM and met the love of his life, Margaret. They were married July 15, 1977. Dan and Marge made an amazing life together complete with four children, Mark, Debbie, Scott, and John, and enjoyed over 40 beautiful years in Wheaton surrounded by friends and family. Dan was devoted to family and his children, supporting their many interests in music, sports, and Boy Scouts. Dan also dedicated himself to the St. Michael Catholic Church community in Wheaton through the Outreach Commission, the Military Ministry, and championing Feed My Starving Children.
