Lorraine P. Tansley (nee Nagel), 102, a lifelong resident of Wheaton, passed away April 15, 2018. Born December 12, 1915 on a family farm in Cloverdale, where she was also raised. She went to St. Michael’s School in Wheaton. She married Charles Tansley on June 12, 1937 at St. Michael’s Church. Lorraine was a lifelong member of St. Michael’s Parish in Wheaton where she was an active member of the Catholic Daughters for over fifty-five years. She cooked Tuesday lunches for the Wheaton Lions Club for over thirty years. Lorraine volunteered at Central DuPage Hospital’s Coffee corner for thirty years, then over 4,000 hours with the hospital sewing group making caps for the new borns (approximately 35,000 caps).
She is survived by her daughter Jeannine Mack; a son William; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, son Larry and son in law Dennis Mack.
Visitation Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of Mass 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church 310 S. Wheaton Ave., Wheaton, IL 60187. Interment St. Michael’s Cemetery Wheaton, IL.
