Marion J. Karwoski, 97, of Boone, Iowa passed away on March 4, 2018 at the Eastern Star Masonic Home. A Funeral Mass will be 9:30 A.M. Saturday, March 10 2018 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Winfield, Illinois. Burial will be in the Assumption Cemetery in Winfield.
Marion Joseph Karwoski was born in Berwyn, Illinois on March 17, 1920, the son of John and Cecelia (Teska) Karwoski. On January 23, 1943, Marion married Dora Cox at Muskogee, Oklahoma. He enlisted in the United States Army and served during World War II. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1947.
Marion was a career serviceman, serving over 30 years. He later worked for Wheaton National Bank and Craigen Savings and Loan as an assistant Vice President.
In earlier years, Marion was active in scouting. While living in Boone, he served as President of the Boone AARP, was a tour guide at the Mamie Eisenhower Birthplace, was head usher at 8 A.M. Mass at the Church of the Sacred Heart, and was public relations officer for the Boone American Legion Post #56.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dora; a son, Dennis Karwoski; a daughter, Jeannette Rehlander; a son-in-law Don Green; two brothers, Emery and Chester Karwoski. Marion is survived by one son, George (Sandi) Karwoski of Boone; one daughter, Linda Green of Auburn Hills, Michigan; daughter-in-law, Jan Karwoski of Wheaton, Illinois; son-in-law, Phil Rehlander of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, John (Mary) Karwoski and Fritz Karwoski; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 East Roosevelt Rd., Wheaton, Ill on Friday, March 9th from 4 until 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be Saturday 9:30 am at St. John the Baptist, 233 Church Street, Winfield, IL Please meet at the church.
