Edward W. Jankowski, 70, of Aurora, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 4, at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn. Ed was born on November 27, 1947 at Ingall’s Memorial Hospital in Harvey, Illinois. He was raised in Posen, Illinois where he attended St Stanislaus Grammar School. He later graduated from St. Rita High School and the College of Automation in Chicago. Early in his career he worked as a computer programmer and then throughout the majority of his career worked in the food service industry. He and his late wife, Pam, owned and operated “Pam & Ed’s Riverwalk Cafe & Deli” in downtown Naperville. Ed was a member of the St. Thomas the Apostle choir and performed in various venues in Italy. In the twilight of his career, Ed worked at St. Patrick’s Residence, where he was also a devoted volunteer. He is survived by his sister, Cynthia and brother-in-law, Osborne Herndon; one nephew, Sean and wife Alina McMahon; and one great-niece, Liliana McMahon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pam, and by his parents, Edward and Ann Jankowski. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Residence, 1400 Brookdale Rd., Naperville.
