Brian T. Cleary, 53, a resident of the DuPage Care Center in Wheaton, died peacefully on November 24, 2017 surrounded by his family. Beloved son of John and Barbara “Babs” Cleary, fond brother of Kelley (Matt) Vail, Katie (John) O’Hara, and Pete (Jan Bryant) Cleary; proud uncle of Maggie and Aidan O’Hara, and Jack and Annie Vail; dear nephew and cousin to many. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Nicholas and Ellen Cleary and Don and Mary Ellen Yentzer.
A graduate of Glenbard South High School and the University of Dallas, ’86, he was employed in the Dallas retail industry at Marshall Fields, Neiman Marcus, and Target Corporation. Brian was an avid and learned history buff, particularly of World War 1 and central and eastern Europe. He loved music and theatre arts, and served as a member volunteer with Texas Gilbert and Sullivan.
His family is eternally grateful to the staff of the DuPage Care Center for the incredibly compassionate and holistic long-term care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Brian’s name can be made to the DuPage Care Center, 400 N. County Farm Rd, Wheaton, IL 60187.
