Beatrice Ann Tarmichael nee Adams, 94, of Winfield, IL, passed from this life on July 28, 2017 surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle against chronic lymphocytic leukemia and congestive heart failure.
Bea was born on July 13, 1923 in Akron, OH to Anna Clara and John Gilbert Adams. She was the second of four children, John Vincent, Mary Margaret (Patrick), and Ruth Eileen (Quillin). She graduated from East High, attended Business College and was employed by Ohio Edison. She married her childhood sweetheart, Arthur J. Tarmichael, on July 22, 1944. From 1945 through 1955 they were blessed with nine children, Arthur, Paul, Douglas, Ellen (Harry Murrey), Elizabeth (George Vann Jr.), John (Rosemarie), James (Linda), Mary (Lawrence McManus), and Timothy (Sheila). In 1957 Art and Bea moved from Akron to Glen Ellyn, IL. There Bea devoted her time to raising her family. In 1972 Bea and Art were transferred to Tupelo, MS where they enjoyed 10 years of traveling throughout the South with Art’s job and were very active in St. James Catholic Church. In 1982 Art retired and they returned to IL. They eventually settled in Winfield, IL. There Bea enjoyed a full life with Art until his death in 1994. Bea remained in Winfield enjoying her family and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an active member of the CCW for many years and was very involved in the parish life of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
She will be dearly missed by her sister, Mary Patrick, her sister-in-law Margaret Adams, her seven children, 25 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
Bea was preceded in death by her husband Arthur; her parents Anna and John Adams; her brother, Jack, and her sister, Ruth; her two infant sons, Paul and Douglas; and her son-in-law, Harry Murrey.
Visitation will be held at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home in Wheaton, IL on Thursday August 3rd from 3pm to 8pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday August 4th at 9:30am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Winfield, IL.
