Ted Matusik, Jr., 79, passed away on July 10, 2017. Ted was born August 15, 1937 in Chicago and was raised there along with his three brothers, Walter, Stanley, and Robert. After graduating from St. Rita High School, he graduated from Lewis University and joined the Marine Corps. Ted moved to Wheaton after getting married to Dorothy (Dottie) Andrysiak and then retired to Creal Springs, IL. Ted had a lifelong love for airplanes, and became an airplane mechanic for Eastern Airlines and later for American Airlines. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening in his backyard, and making cabinets and wooden toys for his grandchildren. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was affectionately known as “Tadzio” (Polish) and as “Papa” to his beloved grandchildren. He was married to Dorothy for fifty-six years before she passed away on November 2, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, his father Ted Matusik, Sr., and his mother Mary (nee Rusin) Matusik. He is survived by his daughters Debra (Roy) Wolski, Linda (Steve) Dahlen, and Sandra (Peter) Roper; and eight grandchildren. Visitation is Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Road, Wheaton (1 blk. East of Naperville Road). Funeral home prayers Saturday at 9:15 a.m. and then proceeding to St. James the Apostle Church, Glen Ellyn for the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment at St. Michael Cemetery.
