Kenneth G. Arnesen, age 88, died peacefully in his sleep on February 15, 2017. A resident of Wheaton, Ken was born in Chicago and grew up in Oak Park, where he broke the Suburban League basketball scoring record playing center for Oak Park- River Forest High. After degrees from University of Iowa and University of Illinois, he served his country in the Army in post-war Germany. Ken spent his entire professional career in the law department at the First National Bank of Chicago, now Chase Bank, first as a lawyer and later as a Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Cashier. He was an avid golfer, a life-long Cubs fan and played a mean harmonica. He loved his bridge group at church, and was thrilled to have won with a 6 no-trump slam on the day he died.
He is survived by his wife Chris; his children, Nancy and Robert (Michelle); grandchildren, Emma, Nora, David and Bodhi; and step-children, Mike and Annie MacDowell. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Alva and his son David. Memorial visitation Sunday from 2-6 pm at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Rd., Wheaton, IL 60187.
